The Division of Child Services (DCS) Ombudsman was created by the Indiana State Legislature. The Bureau has the authority to receive, investigate and attempt to resolve complaints concerning the actions of the Department of Child Services (DCS) and to make recommendations to improve the child welfare system. The Bureau operates independently of DCS and is housed in the Department of Administration.
The mission of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman(LTC) is to investigate and attempt to resolve complaints when dealing with specific state agengies. A federal and state-funded program to improve the quality of life and care for residents (regardless of age or payer source) of long term care facilities through investigation and resolution of individual complaints and empowerment of consumers through education. Long term care facilities may include nursing facilities, residential care facilities, assisted living facilities, adult foster care homes and county operated residential care facilities.
